Our Plantation

SALCRA’s oil palm plantations form the foundation of its core business, driving sustainable rural development through the commercial cultivation of Native Customary Rights (NCR) land. By adopting modern plantation management practices and working closely with local communities, SALCRA enhances land productivity, creates employment and income opportunities, and contributes to the long-term socio-economic growth of rural Sarawak while ensuring sustainable agricultural development.

Regional Estate Operations

SALCRA operates its 19 oil palm estates across four operational administrative regions.

Bau-Lundu Region

Bau • Lundu

This region handles operations in the westernmost part of Sarawak near the Lundu District. Its administrative hub is the SALCRA Bau/Lundu Regional Office in Bau.

Estates: Jagoi, Bratak, Undan, Stenggang, Sebako

Serian Region

Serian • Kuching • Samarahan

Located closer to Kuching and Samarahan, this region is supported by the SALCRA Serian Regional Office and the nearby Serian Palm Oil Mill to facilitate efficient crop processing.

Estates: Taee, Melikin, Kedup I, Kedup II

Sri Aman Region

Sri Aman • Lubok Antu

This region holds historical significance as it houses SALCRA’s very first plantation venture, the Lubok Antu Oil Palm Project, which started in 1976.

Estates: Lemanak, Batu Kaya, Melugu

Saratok Region

Saratok • Roban • Betong

This is SALCRA's easternmost operational division, extending its coverage all the way up to Roban to manage native customary rights (NCR) lands in this district.

Estates: Saratok, Saribas, Roban North, Roban South

Harvesting and Landowner Titling

Combining efficient estate operations with secure legal land titles for Sarawak's rural communities.

Estate Harvesting Procedures

Estates follow strict block harvesting rotations (every 10–14 days) using manual sickles (egrek) on adjustable aluminum poles. Bunches are harvested at peak ripeness (measured by natural loose fruit detachment) to secure maximum oil content before evacuation to palm mills.

NCR Land Surveying & Section 18 Titling

Before plantation development starts, SALCRA coordinates community dialogues and land boundary mapping. We assist the Land and Survey Department to run perimeter and individual surveys, granting landowners permanent, tax-free legal land titles under Section 18 of the Land Code.
