Integrated Livestock Farming
SALCRA's livestock programme integrates cattle farming within oil palm plantations to improve plantation maintenance by reducing weeding costs and chemical usage while generating additional income through cattle sales. Introduced in 2002, the initiative currently manages around 3,000 cattle across 10 estates and is expanding towards commercial livestock production through the development of feedlots, breeding centres, and an integrated livestock hub to maximise land use and operational sustainability.

Breeding Targets & Expansion
We focus on robust, climate-resilient breeds, recently integrating 1, 101 high-quality Australian Brahman breeders to elevate local genetic standards. Supported by our new breeding centres expanding feedlot capacity from 300 to 800 heads, our operations are structurally phased to guarantee commercial viability and genetic excellence.

This phase strengthens SALCRA’s breeding facilities and feedlot capacity to support a reliable cattle supply chain, improve herd reproduction, and enhance livestock health management.
Phase 2: Large-Scale Integrated Livestock Centre
This phase focuses on developing an integrated Livestock Centre to centralize processing, logistics, and marketing, creating a complete supply chain from production to retail-ready products.
